Kalinchowk is located in the eastern hilly region of Nepal in the Dolakha district. Kalinchowk is famous for Kalinchowk Bhagawati Temple which is located on the top of the hill at 3,842m. This temple belongs to goddess Bhagawati famous for fulfilling pilgrimage prays & desires. Most people visit Kalinchowk due to its religious and pilgrimage significance. Kuri village is a beautiful valley that is the basement of Kalinchowk temple and lies right below Kalinchowk hill. Kuri village is famous for its beautiful landscape which looks so beautiful during the snowfall in the winter season and colorful during the spring season.

How to go there?

Day 1. Approximately a 06-07 hour drive from Kathmandu to Kuri Village.

Local buses are available from the Buspark in Kathmandu. The buses leave early in the morning, with the shift starting from 6 am. Start your journey from Kathmandu and drive along the highway through Bhaktapur, Banepa, Dolalghat, Mude, Charikot, and reach Kuri village. Many Travel agencies in Nepal or local Travel and Tours companies also provide various packages for Kalinchowk Tour. Also, you can Book a Vehicle for 1 night and 2 days package from Kathmandu to Kalinchowk and back.

Day 2: Kuri Village Kalinchowk Bhagwati darshan and return back to Kathmandu.

Wake up early in the morning, and move to the Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple which is about one and half hours of hiking or 3 to 5 minutes by cable car. Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple is at a height of 842 meters from the Kuri village.

How far is Kalinchowk from Kathmandu? 

Headquarter of Dolokha, Charikot, is about 132 kilometers from Kathmandu, and Kainchowk is about 18 kilometers from Charikot. Local vehicles are not available but can be reserved to reach Kuri from where Kalinchowk temple is about a 1-hour hike for regular hikers and can take up to 2 for others.

Where to stay?

If you take a local bus from Kathmandu then you have to stay at Charkot the first day, or if you can walk faster then walk to Kuri the same day, or else you can take a rest at Charikot.  Then take all the time you can travel to the Kuri village the next day.
